Data & privacy
Here's what stays on your device and what leaves it. The base Stocked tier runs entirely offline. Stocked+ adds features that need a backend or AI providers — those are the only paths that send anything out.
- Inventory items, quantities, units, and storage areas
- Receipt photos you take
- OCR text produced locally by Tesseract
- Learned receipt-to-item mappings
- Saved local recipes and your category list
- Your email and authentication credentials
- Which plan you own and when you purchased
- Items and recipes in shared households you join
- A hash of your inventory + the AI's generated recipes (cached so we don't re-bill the AI)
- Image bytes from a single receipt, when you use AI receipt scan
- Audio bytes from a single clip, when you use voice entry
- Item names + quantities + storage, when you request recipe ideas
- The URL and visible page text, when you import a recipe from a link
- Your camera roll, or photos you didn't explicitly scan
- A profile of your shopping history or habits
- Third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs (the app ships none)
- Location or contacts
AI requests go through Lovable's AI Gateway to providers like Google Gemini and OpenAI. We send the minimum the feature needs and don't keep these payloads server-side after the response comes back. We pick providers whose published API terms say API traffic isn't used to train their general models, but we can't independently audit them. The base Stocked tier sends nothing to AI providers at all.
